We hope that you also find PSCX to be a very useful addition to your Windows PowerShell toolkit.

FAQ
If you have any problems with the installation and/or usage of PSCX, check out the FAQ which will be frequently updated. If you don't see your issue listed, please post it in the discussions forum with as much detail as possible.

Release Status

PSCX 3.0 Production Released
PSCX 3.0 is our primary release targeting PowerShell 3.0 and only PowerShell 3.0. We've made the jump to .NET 4.0 and are using PowerShell 3.0 specific features. If you need PowerShell 2.0 support use PSCX 2.1 Production. PSCX 3.0 is deployed via a MSI file. You can download PSCX 3.0 from http://pscx.codeplex.com/releases/view/96847.

PSCX 2.1 Production Released
PSCX 2.1 addresses a number of defects found in the 2.0.0.x releases as well as adding support for Windows PowerShell 3.0. PSCX 2.1 is xcopy deployed via a ZIP file. Do not forget to unblock the ZIP file before extracting the contents. You can download PSCX 2.1 from http://pscx.codeplex.com/releases/view/96848.

Both of these releases of PSCX support execution in an "AllSigned" execution policy environment. We were also able to obtain an extended validation code signing certificate to allow the PSCX 3.0 MSI file to play nicely with the Windows 8 SmartScreen filter. We would like to thank the folks at DigiCert for donating the required code signing certificates to this project. Not only did they donate the certs but were quite helpful in supporting me getting up and running quickly - even when that meant talking to a support person at midnight. :-)

Updated Wiki: Home

News Feeds

PSCX 1.2 Released
This version supports Windows PowerShell version 2.0 and adds Read-Archive, Expand-Archive and Tail-File cmdlets. As always, we are interested in your feedback, good and bad.

Installation note: you will be required to uninstall PSCX 1.1.1 before installing 1.2. If you don't you will get an installer error which if you look at the details, effectively tells you to uninstall previous versions of PSCX. Also we have added an option for the profile installation. You can either allow PSCX to install a default profile (it will offer to back up the original one), append the PSCX profile script to your existing script or do nothing. If you append to your existing profile script, please remove all the old PSCX 1.1.1 script from your profile before starting up PowerShell. By default, PowerShell uses the per user, all hosts profile (profile.ps1).

Updated Wiki: Home

News Feeds
